Battlefield: Bad Company
Anyone play Bad Company yet? Looks pretty similar to COD4 game play wise. Any opinions?

I tried the demo this morning. I wasn't too impressed to be honest. The graphics are nice, but the movement feels stiff, and the gameplay doesn't do much for me. The destructible environments are nice though.

Same here. I checked out the demo but it seemed kind of clunky compare to COD.

Is it free?

all of em' that I've seen. I guess they might charge for some. make sure you go to your console settings and set it to continue downloads after you shut off your xbox so that it doesn't have to be on the whole time.

Yea, that may be why I can't leave the d/l screen too.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company
I've downloaded the demo and have ranked up to 4, the max rank on the demo is 5. Bad company is about 10 times more realistic than call of duty, first of all you have to cock your gun every time you reload but in call of duty you only cock your gun when you have no ammo in your clip.
The sniper is more realistic too, the only semi-automatic sniper is extremely weak and innacurate. Theres no semi-automatic one shit kill sniper like the 50 cal which makes perfect sense. The game already came out and I can't get it because I'm leaving tomorrow for the bahamas =]

I don't see how any of that is realistic.

Yeah, even the rifles in COD4 are a bit underpowered compared to their real life counterparts. A Barret would make a man explode in real life, not cause a white X to appear in mid air.

Not only that, but the only weapon that needs to be cocked every shot is a bolt action, and all semis have to be cocked when they are reloaded.
I was definately right in my decision.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company
Yes you were. We could be thinking about different guns or even the same thing but most semi-autos that I've shot just need the bolt released after they are reloaded, but you know what I mean and I'm sure you meant the same.

I agree with Jugz, COD4 has about ruined all the other first-person shooters for me.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company
Being down in Argentina it is a bitch and a half to get new Xbox 360 games. Every store down here sells Xbox 360 games but they are all ripped copies. Which is the reason I have two Xbox 360's, one modded and one not. I buy ripped copies if there is no decent online capabilities but I have to wait till they can order the game from the states and have to pay an arm and a leg. Good thing my retirement gives me a good paycheck otherwise I would be out the door on most games. It does help that the ripped copies of games are $10US. Kind of makes up for paying nearly $100US for a full copy.
I will have this game in a week and will let you know what I think of the online capabilities then.
